Ankita Anand is a Delhi-based Journalist, Writer, and Poet, published across languages and countries. She is an Editor at Unbias the News and Co-founder of The Gender Beat. Ankita has received numerous awards, including the International Labour Organisation's Media Award, Ivan Bonfanti Media Prize, European Commission’s Lorenzo Natali Media Prize, Statesman Award for Rural Reporting, and the United Nations Population Fund-Laadli Media Award, among others.
Specializing in long-form reporting with a focus on gender, labor, climate, and human rights, Ankita's work has been supported by various international grants and fellowships, such as the Jijivisha Fellowship and She Creates Change Fellowship. She has contributed to Tactical Tech's Exposing the Invisible Kit and collaborated on diverse media projects, including an investigative podcast for iHeart Media.
Previously, she served as general secretary for the National Campaign for People’s Right to Information, and as a copy editor at Penguin Random House. Ankita recently published a volume of socio-political poetry in Hindi, titled Ab Meri Bari (My Turn).
